(Post Acid-Tokyo, Pre-Infinity) Character's gender: Female Series the character is from: Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle • Background: Princess Sakura is the young princess from the country of Clow. Her deceased father was Clow Reed and when he passed on, her brother Touya became king with good friend turned lover Yukito as his high priest. At a young age, Princess Sakura befriended the surrogate son of an archeologist named Fujitaka. The boy was an orphan and Fujitaka named him Syaoran. Syaoran and Sakura grew up together as best friends and over time they developed romantic feelings for each other. High Priest Yukito at one point tells King Touya and Syaoran is the one Sakura's destined for. When they are in their mid-teens, Syaoran is working on the ruins in Clow Kingdom and when Sakura arrives the dormant magic in the ruins causes Sakura's memories, her soul, to manifest themselves in the form of feathers and scatter throughout the dimensions. Sakura falls unconcious and Yukito sends Syaoran and her to see the Space-Time Witch Yuuko. Syaoran begs for Yuuko to save Sakura and she grants his wish by giving him, along with Kurogane and Fai, Mokona Modoki, a creature with the power to travel dimensions. Syaoran's mission? Collect all the scattered fragments of Sakura's memories. The price he must pay? His relationship with Sakura. No matter how many feathers they collect, Sakura will never remember Syaoran. Sakura spends most of her time in the first several arcs of the manga in a tired, clueless state. Whenever she obtains a new feather, she falls asleep. However, as the series progresses and Sakura becomes more powerful, she can stay awake for longer periods of time and no longer falls asleep when she gains a new feather. She also has grown to all of her traveling companions, including her love for Syaoran being rekindled, despite not remembering him for before. In Acid Tokyo, Sakura is asleep during the first half of the arc and she wakes up in time to see that the Syaoran she's been traveling with is nothing more than a mindless clone and the real Syaoran has awoken and tries to kill the clone. When the clone prepares to leave Acid Tokyo, Sakura begs him to take her with him but her refuses and leaves her behind. After this experience, Sakura becomes cold and distant from the group but her strength has grown drastically and she's much more determined to change the course of the future, and she's even willing to risk her own life in order to achieve that end. • Personality: Sakura's personality developes multiple times over the course of the series. At the start of the series, she's cheerfull and happy, much like her original Cardcaptor Sakura counterpart. However, once her memories are lost she comes weary and tired, without much of a real personality at all. As she gains more of her memories and developes closer realtionships with those around her, her cheerful nature shows up more and more and from the very start Sakura is strong willed. Even if their isn't a whole lot she can do, she does whatever she can to help out in any way possible. In the more recent arcs, after discovering that the Syaoran she loved all this time was nothing more than a ruthless clone, Sakura become cold and distant, and particularly insensitive to the real Syaoran. However, she still cares a great deal about all the members of her group. She knows that something dreadful is going to happen and so she puts herself in harms way in an attempt to alter that terrible future. Whether or not she succeeded is yet to be seen but we do know that she's still a loving, caring person. She embraced Fai in order to calm him down when he broke down after stabbing her and told him that the future can still be changed. More and more, it seems her old CCS side is slowly returning. |
